Planning: Katie, Chris, Xin Wei, Lauren, Nina. Katie is operational liaison between Synthesis and TML, and point person for Workshop.
Pre-build in Montreal Quebec: TML team (Julian system / lighting / sound , Navid movement / gesture / sound, Evan video, Nikos applications / instruments / speech / portal , Nina iOS controllers)
February 1 - 14 Pre-build
TML, Montreal Quebec: Ozone team (Julian, Evan)

Feb 6: Director Sha & Navid will give a preview of Workshop in undergrad Digital Culture class (recruit volunteers)
Workshop Feb 15- March 8
WEEK 1: Parallel (concurrent but not connected in the same space as much as possible) work by apparatus and movement/musical teams:
• Apparatuses
Garth Breathing space apparatus Kyma + motion tracking;
Chris Forest lighting array+ DMX interface;Ozone (Julian, Navid, Evan): train local student team to use the O4 system.
paying attention to Temporal texture and Transition (student media artist programmers , e.g. Matt (TouchDesigner), Nicole (accordion, electronics, C), Mike (hardware, C, Max), Chinmay (Ozone, Jitter) )
• Movement artists and musicians workshop on the two questions of Temporal texture and Transition
Feb 15: BBQ hosted by Director Sha
Feb 20 : Presentation of team to local undergrad students in Digital Culture class
Multiple pauses each day to take stock of exploratory work, come together to verbally share insights and practices concerning temporal texture and transition.
Plan exercises / studies / sketches for week 2 based on opportunities and insights generated from the pauses.
WEEK 2:
Ozone team (Julian, Navid, Evan) hand over O4 to local student team to run exercises. Julian, Navid, Evan will not touch the systems but be in hand to answer questions. (Ozone team may explore other application domains (such as smart environments and smart objects work with Design+architecture students etc.) or the WonderDome project.)
Planned cross linking exercises between research groups : (student dancers and musicians ), creative engineering , creative movement / music jams exploring sub-themes of Temporal texture and of Transition.
Examples: Vangelis, Adrian;
Vangelis Adrian Navid;
Julian Chris Grisha + Julie (dancer) (Nikos Doug in Montreal)
Senior artists researchers may witness this work.
WEEK 3:
Senior Artists and Researchers presentations on Temporal textures and on Transitions in situ inside responsive environments.
Michael Montanaro Concordia
Adrian Freed Berkeley
Vangelis Lympouridis USC
Chris Ziegler / Garth Paine / ____ ? ASU
March 6: presentation @ Dance Matters : Michael Montanaro
